SOUND THERAPY

Acupuncture supports the flow of Qi (energy) through the energetic meridians of the body.  When the flow of energy  is hindered by injury, inflammation, or stagnation, the body feels discomfort and pain, and mental and emotional dis-ease.

Traditional Chinese Medicine protocols provide effective treatment for  post COVID 19 symptoms and respiratory conditions in general.

Combined with other modalities, such as cupping and tuina, Chinese herbs and proper diet and exercise, regular acupuncture treatments will help you experience the infinite wellness you deserve.

Traditional Chinese Medicine is highly effective for reducing anxiety/stress, immune system support, releasing allergies/environmental toxins, muscular pain relief, digestive support, arthritis relief, migraine relief, lower back pain/sciatica relief, fertility enhancement, post-operative recovery, respiratory enhancement, circulation enhancement, for acute symptoms and/or chronic health imbalances.

CUPPING

SOUND THERAPY

ACUPUNCTURE

Tight muscles, chronic aches and pains, anxiety, stress, and other imbalances are effectively treated with cupping.  Suction cups (silicone) are used to remove tension from the tissues, relax the muscles, encourage lymphatic drainage, and release toxins and heat that accumulate in organs and body. Cupping is highly effective in moving accumulation from the lungs during seasonal colds and flus.

Sound therapy, also known as vibrational medicine, uses sound waves to promote well-being and healing. It has been practiced for centuries in various cultures and is gaining popularity as an alternative or complementary therapy. Benefits of Sound Therapy:

  • Stress and Anxiety Reduction: Sound therapy can induce relaxation and promote the release of stress hormones, such as cortisol.
  • Improved Sleep: Sound waves can help regulate sleep patterns and reduce insomnia.
  • Pain Management: Certain sound frequencies can block pain signals and reduce chronic pain.
  • Improved Mood: Sound therapy can stimulate the release of endorphins, which have mood-boosting effects.
  • Increased Focus and Concentration: Sound waves can enhance attention and cognitive function.
  • Emotional Balance: Sound therapy can help process and release emotions, promoting emotional stability.
  • Improved Physical Health: Sound therapy may support the body's natural healing processes and boost the immune system.
  • Enhanced Creativity and Inspiration: Some sound frequencies can stimulate the right hemisphere of the brain, which is associated with creativity.
  • Spiritual Well-being: Sound therapy can promote a sense of inner peace and connection.

NATURAL HERBAL MEDICINE

NATURAL HERBAL MEDICINE

NATURAL HERBAL MEDICINE

In Oriental Medicine, herbs are used holistically to restore the body's balance by creating customized formulas that treat the underlying cause of an imbalance, rather than just symptoms. A practitioner designs a formula with different herbs having specific functions—as monarch, minister, assistant, and guide—which are taken in forms like teas, powders, capsules, or decoctions to support overall health and invigorate the body. How Herbal Formulas are Used

  • Holistic Approach: Oriental Medicine views the body as a whole system where imbalances between opposing forces like Yin and Yang can lead to disease. Herbal therapy aims to correct these imbalances and restore harmony.
  • Personalized Formulas: A practitioner identifies a patient's specific diagnostic pattern and creates a custom herbal formula for them.
  • Multi-Herb Combinations: Unlike Western medicine, which often uses individual medications, Chinese herbal formulas are composed of several herbs, with each herb having a specific role to play within the formula.
  • Addressing the Root Cause: Herbs are prescribed to address the underlying cause of a dysfunction rather than just the presenting symptoms, though symptomatic treatment for things like insomnia is also common.

Forms of Herbal Medicine

  • Decoctions: The most common preparation, where raw herbs are boiled in water for a period of time, and the liquid is then drunk.
  • Capsules and Tablets: Raw herbs or their dried extracts are ground into a powder and put into capsules or compressed into tablets.
  • Teas and Extracts: Other common forms include teas, syrups, liquid extracts, and powders.

GUA SHA

NATURAL HERBAL MEDICINE

GUA SHA

Gua Sha is a Chinese Medicine modality used to release toxins in the blood and lymph by applying pressure to the surface of the body using a smooth-edged tool.  The treatment stimulates the flow of vital energy and blood through the body.  It is highly effective in reducing severe acute pain in the muscles.

It is normal that the skin might develop a deep redness or even purple bruise effect after a session.  This is the skin's normal response to the treatment and usually will fade in a day or two.

In some instances, Gua Sha may be used as an alternative to cupping.

TUINA

NATURAL HERBAL MEDICINE

GUA SHA

Another highly effective non-needle service is tuina.  Tuina is similar to massage in that  manual manipulation is used to aggressively support the movement of qi through the meridians

Denise will recommend other simple modalities you can do at home such as Epson Bath/essential oil soaks, yoga asana for recovery, hydration, cleansing, and plant-based dietary considerations.

RED LIGHT AND INFRARED HEAT THERAPY

RED LIGHT AND INFRARED HEAT THERAPY

RED LIGHT AND INFRARED HEAT THERAPY

Healing methods, such as red light therapy and infrared heat, help restore and support the body's natural inclination to repair and thrive.

Red light therapy benefits health by stimulating cell energy, enhancing mitochondrial function, and promoting ATP production to accelerate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and improve skin health, wound healing, and even hair growth. The low-level red light penetrates the skin to trigger these positive biochemical effects within the cells.

Red light therapy is contraindicated for people with photosensitive conditions like lupus or those taking photosensitizing medications, including certain antibiotics, chemotherapy drugs, or retinoids. You should also avoid it if you have active cancer (especially on or near the tumor), certain eye diseases, or an active fever or infection. Pregnant women and those with darker skin tones should also consult a doctor before use, as research is limited or sensitivities may occur.

Infrared (IR) therapy involves exposing the body to electromagnetic radiation within the infrared spectrum. It has various potential benefits, including:

Pain Relief: IR therapy can penetrate deep into tissues, promoting blood flow and reducing inflammation, which can alleviate pain from conditions such as arthritis, muscle strains, and nerve damage.

Improved Circulation: IR radiation increases blood vessel diameter, improving circulation. This can benefit individuals with poor circulation, peripheral artery disease, and Raynaud's phenomenon.

Wound Healing: IR therapy stimulates cell growth and collagen production, promoting faster wound healing.

Detoxification: Sweating induced by IR therapy can help eliminate toxins and heavy metals from the body.

Skin Rejuvenation: IR therapy can penetrate the skin, stimulating collagen production and reducing wrinkles, fine lines, and skin damage.

Hair Growth: Studies suggest that IR therapy may promote hair growth by stimulating hair follicles.

Muscle Relaxation: IR therapy can induce a deep state of relaxation, reducing muscle tension and spasms.

Reduced Inflammation: IR therapy can suppress inflammatory responses, benefiting conditions like autoimmune disorders and chronic pain.

Improved Sleep: IR therapy can promote relaxation and reduce stress, leading to better sleep quality.

ACUPRESSURE

ACUPUNCTURE FACIAL

ACUPUNCTURE FACIAL

In oriental medicine, acupressure is a non-invasive therapy that provides benefits such as pain relief, reduced stress and anxiety, improved digestion and sleep, and increased energy. It works by applying pressure to specific acupoints to balance the body's natural energy, known as Qi, which flows through invisible pathways called meridians. By unblocking stagnant Qi, acupressure helps restore balance, promoting physical and emotional well-being.

Specific Benefits

  • Pain Relief: Acupressure can alleviate chronic and acute pain by stimulating the release of endorphins, the body's natural painkillers.
  • Stress Reduction: The therapy promotes relaxation and mental clarity by targeting acupoints that help calm the mind and reduce anxiety.
  • Improved Digestion: Stimulating specific points can help regulate the digestive system, easing issues like nausea, bloating, and indigestion.
  • Better Sleep: Acupressure can help individuals with insomnia and other sleep problems, promoting better sleep quality.
  • Increased Energy: By optimizing the smooth flow of Qi throughout the body, acupressure can enhance vitality and energy levels.
  • Management of Treatment Side Effects: Acupressure is used in cancer care to help manage side effects like fatigue, nausea, and pain, providing relaxation and a sense of control.

Acupuncture may be substituted for acupressure in most treatments where acupuncture is an included modality.
